Avatar Computing was started in 1998 by myself, Steve Frey, when the computer consulting firm I was working with decided to close its doors. That’s an extremely shortened down version of that story. Currently, the staff consists of one. I sub-contract and refer to various other consultants and organizations – I know when I’m not the right person for the job, and am the first to suggest another in that circumstance.
Today, we offer a host of services. Data management, backups, network architecture or administration, internet audio and video production, even web hosting and design. Avatar Computing strives to create computing solutions that empower users and administrators to work in a manner that’s efficient and effective while still comfortable and secure that their data is accurate and accessible.
Location? Where do you need help? Computer service can be accomplished virtually anywhere – with the help of remote access technologies we can serve just about any need anywhere. On site visits are currently restricted to Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles and Kern counties. That’s a wide enough target for Avatar Computing to make its mark on the world and a small enough demographic to for us to provide the quality of service we expect of ourselves.
